Please contact us using the booking form or via direct email, info@hkgreeters.com. Or, scroll down for instant bookings using our online booking platform.
Bookings are subject to availability and we operate on a first-come first-serve basis. A booking is confirmed when payment is made.
Children 16 years and under are free at the time of booking, when accompanied by an adult. If alone, they will be treated as a paying adult.
Public transportation – we highly recommend you obtain the Octopus travelcards for getting around. These can be used on all ferries, buses, trains and trams which you will be using on a private walking tour. They cost HK $200 per adult ($50 deposit) and can be purchased in Hong Kong currency from the MTR train station. We can help you with this when we meet.
Private transportation – we offer private car tours in luxury vehicles (up to 6 passengers without luggage) and coach tours for large groups all over Hong Kong, including the restricted areas in Lantau for the Big Buddha. Please visit our Car Tours page or Group Tours page for pricing and details. All tolls and parking fees are included in the tour fee.
All personal food and drink costs on the tour are the responsibility of the guest, however, these costs are very affordable in Hong Kong, typically HK $150-200 per person and we can guarantee you the tastiest in Chinese cuisine!
Any other costs such as entrance fees, or transport costs not covered by Octopus card (such as cable-car, sampan rides, park entrance fees etc) are at the guest’s own expense, we will add these on to your tour fee where stated in the itinerary.
We kindly request that you let us know if you are no longer able to make the tour as soon as you possibly can. We do understand that unforeseen circumstances do arise.
You may cancel, in writing, up to 7 days before the tour commencement date and time and your payment will be refunded in full via your original payment method.
If the tour in cancelled within 3-6 days of the tour, 75% of your tour fee will be refunded.
If the tour is cancelled within 24-48 hours of the tour start time, 50% of your tour fee will be refunded.
If the tour is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, or you do not show up for the tour, no refund will be issued.
NB: Travel insurance is highly recommended
In the event of Typhoon Signal 8, 9 or 10, or Black Rain storm the tour will automatically be cancelled due to safety of our guests. All tour fees will be refunded.
Hong Kong Greeters can cancel at any time and your fee will be refunded. In the unlikely event that we need to cancel the tour with your arranged guide, all endeavours will be made to make alternative arrangements for the tour to go ahead with an alternative guide, if this is your preference.
We will suggest what we think you may like best based on your interests for your customised tour. There is a list supplied on the booking form, but also have a look at our News Blog sections to give you some ideas as well. We are always very flexible, before and during the tour – we want you to get the most from Hong Kong!
For walking tours, you and your party must have a moderate level of fitness to be able to join. Hong Kong is hilly and very hot in the summer. If you are unsure, please discuss with us directly. We do have Car Tour options available.
All “Greeters” have been trained by the Tourism Industry Council (TIC) of Hong Kong and are licensed to carry out tours in Hong Kong.
We are NOT part of the Global Greeters Network.

We reserve the right to take photographs or film footage during the tour. Consent is implied unless stated in writing – we will not share anything you expressly tell us not to.
Please note all tours are undertaken at your own risk. We accept no liability or obligation in the event of illness, injury, death or loss or damage to personal property.
Payment constitutes agreement to all our terms and conditions.
Last updated: 7 September 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to tours, private experiences, cruises, transport, activities and related travel services provided by Hong Kong Greeters Limited (“Hong Kong Greeters”, “we”, “us” or “our”). By making a booking, payment or participating in a tour, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy.
Please contact us using the booking form, by direct email at info@hkgreeters.com, or through our online booking platform where available.
All bookings are subject to availability and are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. A booking is confirmed only when Hong Kong Greeters has received the required payment and issued written confirmation.
When making a booking for another person, you confirm that you are authorised to provide their personal information and to accept these Terms & Conditions on their behalf. You should ensure that every member of your party has read the relevant tour description, these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy.
Children aged 16 and under are free at the time of booking when accompanied by a paying adult, unless a different price or age policy is stated for a particular tour, activity or supplier. Children participating without an accompanying adult will be charged at the applicable adult rate. A parent or legal guardian must accompany all persons under 18 unless Hong Kong Greeters confirms otherwise in writing.
All prices are quoted in Hong Kong dollars (HKD) and are per person unless otherwise stated. The tour price includes only the services expressly listed in the relevant itinerary, quotation or booking confirmation.
Public transportation. For walking tours, we recommend that you obtain an Octopus card for use on eligible ferries, buses, trains and trams. Public-transport fares are not included unless expressly listed in your itinerary, quotation or booking confirmation. Octopus card prices, deposits and conditions are set by the card issuer and may change.
Private transportation. We offer private car tours in luxury vehicles, generally for up to six passengers without luggage, and coach tours for larger groups throughout Hong Kong, including restricted areas in Lantau where applicable. Vehicle capacity, luggage limits, route restrictions and availability are subject to the relevant operator’s conditions and legal requirements. Tolls and parking fees are included only where expressly stated in your quotation or booking confirmation.
Transport, including coaches, private vehicles, ferries, cable cars, trams and boats, may be provided by independent suppliers and is subject to their operating rules, capacity limits, weather decisions, maintenance requirements and service disruptions.
Unless expressly included in your itinerary, quotation or booking confirmation, personal food and drink costs are the responsibility of the guest. Hong Kong Greeters may make recommendations, but menu availability, prices, opening hours and individual food preferences are outside our control.
Entrance fees, transport costs not covered by an Octopus card, cable-car tickets, sampan rides, park admission, optional activities and other third-party charges are at the guest’s own expense unless specifically stated as included. Where we agree in advance to arrange these items, they may be added to your tour fee or paid directly by you, as stated in the itinerary or quotation.
Dietary requirements, allergies and food preferences must be notified to us as early as possible and, in any event, before the deadline we specify. We will use reasonable efforts to accommodate confirmed requests, but we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment or that every supplier can meet every dietary requirement.
Some shared or group tours require a minimum number of participants. The applicable minimum, where relevant, will be shown in the tour description, quotation or booking confirmation.
If the minimum number is not reached by the stated confirmation deadline, Hong Kong Greeters may cancel the tour. In that event, we will offer you a full refund of payments received by us for that tour or, where available, the option to transfer to an alternative tour or date. Any price difference will be advised and agreed before a transfer is made.
We kindly request that you let us know as soon as possible if you can no longer attend the tour. Cancellation requests must be made in writing to Hong Kong Greeters and take effect when we receive them.
Approved refunds will normally be processed to the original payment method within 10 business days. The time taken for funds to appear may depend on your bank, card issuer, PayPal, Shopify or other payment provider.
No refund is due for late arrival, missed transport or activity departures, or unused tour components caused by you or a member of your party. Requests to transfer a booking to another person, tour or date are subject to availability, supplier conditions and written approval by Hong Kong Greeters. Additional charges may apply.
Travel insurance is strongly recommended.
For guest safety, a tour will normally be cancelled if Typhoon Signal No. 8, 9 or 10, or a Black Rainstorm Warning Signal, is in force at the relevant tour time. We may also amend, delay, postpone or cancel a tour where lower weather warnings, lightning, strong winds, heavy rain, sea conditions, transport disruption, government directions, road closures, venue closures, technical failures, public events or other circumstances create a safety or material operational risk.
Hong Kong Greeters may reasonably change the route, timing, sequence, meeting point, guide, transport, restaurant, venue, activity or other component of a tour where necessary because of safety, weather, traffic, crowd management, operating hours, supplier availability, site rules or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Where practicable, we will provide a reasonably comparable alternative. Tour timings are approximate.
Where Hong Kong Greeters cancels a tour and a suitable alternative date or tour cannot be agreed, we will refund payments received by us for the cancelled tour. We are not responsible for incidental or consequential expenses, including independently booked transport, accommodation, insurance or other arrangements.
In the unlikely event that your arranged guide is unavailable, we will use reasonable efforts to arrange an alternative qualified guide or a suitable alternative arrangement, subject to your preference and availability.
We will recommend an itinerary based on the interests and preferences you provide. Customised itineraries are flexible where reasonably possible, but access, traffic, weather, crowds, supplier availability, site rules and timing may require changes before or during the tour.
Guests are responsible for assessing whether a tour is suitable for their personal fitness, mobility and health. Tours may involve walking, standing, uneven pavements, stairs, hills, crowds, heat, rain, boat boarding and public or private transport. Some experiences, including the Big Buddha on Lantau, may involve a substantial number of steps. If you have a mobility, medical, dietary, allergy, pregnancy or other participation concern, please contact us before booking so that we can discuss suitable options. Car-tour options may be available.
Guests must arrive at the stated meeting point at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time unless otherwise instructed. Tours, coaches, boats, trams, cable cars and other time-sensitive services may depart on time.
Guests must follow reasonable instructions from Hong Kong Greeters’ guides, drivers, boat operators, venue staff and relevant authorities. We may refuse participation or remove a guest from a tour without refund if that guest is intoxicated, behaves abusively or dangerously, materially disrupts the group, fails to follow safety instructions or creates a risk to themselves or others.
Optional activities, including seafood dining, fortune-telling, boat rides or other add-ons, are available only where expressly confirmed. Before payment, we will provide the relevant price, inclusions, duration, minimum participation requirements, booking conditions, weather contingency and cancellation terms where applicable.
Fortune-telling and religious or cultural practices are optional cultural experiences only. No outcome, benefit or result is guaranteed. Any personal consultation or separate charge not specifically listed as included is the guest’s responsibility.
Where an itinerary refers to pre-arranged, priority or skip-the-line access, this means that we will use the stated ticket or booking arrangement where available. Waiting times or queues may still occur because of third-party operating conditions, security procedures, capacity restrictions or unforeseen disruption.
Hong Kong Greeters will use reasonable care and skill in arranging and operating our tours. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
To the extent permitted by law, Hong Kong Greeters is not liable for loss, damage, delay, injury, illness, death or expense arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control; a guest’s own act or omission; independent third-party suppliers; or the inherent risks of travel and participation in the booked activity, except to the extent caused directly by our negligence or other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Guests remain responsible for their personal belongings, health, travel documents and personal arrangements. We strongly recommend that guests arrange appropriate travel, medical, personal-accident and personal-property insurance.
Hong Kong Greeters may take photographs or video during tours and events for operational records, quality assurance and, where appropriate, marketing purposes.
If you do not wish to appear in marketing photographs or video, please notify us in writing before the tour or tell your guide at check-in. We will use reasonable efforts to respect your request, although we cannot guarantee that you will not appear incidentally in background footage or group images.
We will obtain consent from a parent or legal guardian before using identifiable photographs or video of a minor for marketing purposes.
