Set sail with the Hong Kong DolphinWatch team on this wonderful adventure to find the “pinkies”, the Chinese pink dolphins which are native in Hong Kong waters. The dolphins are located in North Lantau, where the South China Sea and Pearl river merge, making ideal feeding conditions for the small pod we have remaining. Due the large-scale development including the Hong Kong International Airport and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau bridge over the last thirty years, plus continued water contamination, the numbers of these beautiful creatures have been steadily decreasing. This experience is also of ecological importance, because along with sharing our love for these magnificent creatures and raising awareness to their situation, the trip supports the ongoing surveillance and conditions to report back to local researchers, in the hope that we can continue to protect their habitat.
This three to four hour group trip begins at Tsim Sha Tsui every Sunday, where we will make the coach transfer to Tung Chung to board the DolphinWatch boat. The coach trip includes a full and detailed introduction about the dolphins by an expert DolphinWatch guide. Options to board at Tung Chung are available. We will spend a few hours out at sea to observe the dolphins in the wild, before making the return journey back to Tung Chung for the bus ride back to Tsim Sha Tsui.
Charter trips for schools and organisations are available mid-week, please email info@hkgreeters.com for more information.
