Lantau Island Car Tour

As one of the only tour companies licensed to access the restricted access zone of Lantau Island, a car tour with Hong Kong Greeters opens the door to this fascinating part of Hong Kong. Lantau is known as Hong Kong’s green lung, and you can imagine stepping back in time 50 years when you visit.

We will visit the Po Lin Monastery and Big Buddha statue, where we will help explain the importance of Buddhism and how it is represented in the hearts, minds and belief system of the people of Hong Kong. We will also be walking the 268 steps up to the Tian Tan Big Buddha, which was erected in 1993, rises 34 metres into the air and faces north, to look over the people of China. It is a magnificent statue and pilgrims flock to it from across Asia.

A visit to Lantau Island can also incorporate a visit to the traditional fishing village of Tai O, which features stilt houses inhabited by fishermen and their families. This relaxing village is one of the best-preserved places on Lantau, indeed the whole of Hong Kong, largely owing to the efforts of the local community and it is a place to just really slow down.

We can also weave in a trip on the Ngong-Ping cable-car for you to experience the breathtaking landscape surrounding the Big Buddha.

As well as offering comfort and convenience, we are one of the few tour companies licensed to access the restricted access zone of Lantau Island by car. Our knowledgeable and friendly guides all speak excellent English and will ensure you make the most of your time in Hong Kong.

We have two car iteneraries. The first is a classic Hong Kong Highlights tour taking in several better-known destinations. We often recommend this to first time visitors as it takes in many of Hong Kong’s best known and most iconic spots.

However, if you would prefer to go further off the beaten track to see another side of Hong Kong, we would recommend our Explore the New Territories tour. There are plenty of fascinating spots that are difficult to access by public transport and also tend to be a little less crowded.

Macau

There’s more to Macau than just casinos – and with this fully customisable private tour, we’ll be lifting the lid on what makes this East-meets-West destination quite so unique.

A former Portuguese colony located just sixty miles from Hong Kong, Macau is the fascinating result of over 400 years of cultural exchange between the western world and Chinese civilisation. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this truly is a city of contrasts – where pastel-coloured colonial shophouses and quaint cobblestoned streets sit alongside traditional Chinese temples and glittering five-star hotels.

From the comfort of an air-conditioned car, we’ll be taking you off Macau’s beaten track to explore some of the lesser-known places that make the city so special. Highlights of this day trip with a difference include:

  • A walk around the Ruins of St. Paul’s, Macau’s most famous landmark, plus other historical sites Na Tcha Temple, Monte Fort and a section of Old City Walls
  • A chance to soak up Macau’s rich architectural heritage with visits to Our Lady of Penha Church, Mandarin’s House, Lilau Square, Moorish Barracks, A-Ma Temple and Guia Fortress
  • Delicious lunch at a traditional Portuguese or Chinese dim sum restaurant
  • A lip-smacking taster of the city’s famous Portuguese egg tarts
  • Get up close and personal with some new furry friends at the Giant Panda Pavilion
  • A drive-through tour along the dazzling Cotai Strip, with photo stops and the opportunity to explore the splendour of The Venetian Macao hotel

New Territories Tour

Get ready for a journey of discovery as we take you on a private car tour of Hong Kong’s lesser-known New Territories, all while staying cool and comfortable in air-conditioned bliss. This tour is perfect for those who want to venture beyond the neon-lit city and experience a more authentic slice of local life.

Our tailored itinerary will take you to insider-only attractions that showcase the region’s captivating past and present. Returning visitors and first-time travelers alike will relish the opportunity to explore Hong Kong’s hidden gems.

Highlights of the tour can include:

  • A visit to the stunning Sai Kung Peninsula, where we’ll indulge in fresh seafood at a local waterfront restaurant and venture into the wilds of Sai Kung National Park.
  • A trip to Tai Po District, where the bustling meat, fish, and grocery markets provide a fascinating glimpse into daily life. We can also visit a floating fish farm and Tsz Shan Monastery, home to a landmark 76-meter tall bronze statue.
  • A stop at Kadoorie Farm & Botanic Garden, originally founded to aid poor local farmers and now promoting biodiversity and conservation.

Kadoorie Farm

  • A chance to explore the abandoned Hakka walled villages of Sha Tin and visit the spiritual and serene 10,000 Buddhas Monastery.
  • A trek through Kam Shan Country Park to spot Hong Kong’s native macaque monkeys (but don’t feed them!).
  • A trip up Jat’s Incline, offering panoramic views across East Kowloon to Hong Kong Island, where you can take in the stunning sights of the old Kai Tak Airport, Victoria Harbour, and Kowloon.
  • A shopping spree for unique souvenirs at Sum Ngai Brass Factory and Yuet Tung China Works.

Experience the New Territories in style and comfort with our private car tour, which allows you to explore the region’s less-accessible areas with ease. Let us create a unique itinerary tailored to your preferences, and discover Hong Kong’s hidden treasures in air-conditioned luxury.
